Life Exercise classes in Bellingham are taught by Lee Seaman, a 30-year practitioner and licensed instructor.

Lee began her practice in Japan, studying the transformational art form of Shintaido for 5 years under the guidance of Shintaido founder Hiroyuki Aoki and his senior teaching staff.

After returning to the United States, Lee and her husband John taught Shintaido while continuing to develop their own practice, studying with Master H. F. Ito of San Francisco who brought Shintaido from Japan to the US. Lee was the first woman in North America to reach examiner rank in Shintaido bojutsu (quarterstaff) and in Shintaido open-hand practice, and is a strong advocate for women instructors in the Shintaido organization.

Lee first began practicing Shintaido meditation and healing in Japan, and has sustained that practice along with her martial arts training. Through the Life Exercise curriculum, she can share her lifetime training in movement, health, and spiritual growth with a wide range of people. “This isn’t just for the young and fit,” she says. “It’s accessible to anyone.”

Life Exercise instructors are licensed by Master H. F. Ito. Information available on request.
